We are located directly behind the Rutherford County Courthouse at 141 West Third Street.

The Planning Dept. will check each building site to be sure it is not in a flood plain, watershed, or school zone as well as stay abreast of all County ordinances to enable you to build safely. Chimney Rock Village Council meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM. Public comments are invited.

Village of Chimney Rock Planning Board meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.

Some months they are not held due to lack of issues or absence of Board Chairman.

Meetings are posted at Chimney Rock firehouse and Post Office. Public comments are invited.

Meeting Info: The Commissioners meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month in Room 204 of the Buncombe County Courthouse in downtown Asheville. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Commission Chambers, Room 204 of the Courthouse. Their meetings are televised and can be seen online and on the County Government Channel 2.

If you would like to speak to the Board in public comment, you can sign up just prior to their regular meeting times before 4:10 p.m. and you will be called on by the Chairman and have 3 minutes to make comment to the Board or you can speak at the end of the meeting during the designated public comment period.

The Commissioners' entire agenda packet for each meeting can be accessed here by noon every Friday prior to a regular meeting.
